I hope all of you didn’t miss me too much this week. Between going to Universal, touring the Everglades, desperately trying to finish perhaps the last school paper I will have to do (I finished it last night) and just trying to relax, it was tough to update on here. My plane leaves in a few hours, so I’ll be working today on what is looking like a 2 part post about my awesome trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. For now, I thought I’d give you all a new trailer!
About a year ago, I showed you the trailer for Ponyo, Miyazaki’s take on The Little Mermaid. Here is his new one, coming out in the next year. Take a look!
If you can’t tell, the new film is based on The Borrowers, a series of English children’s novels from the 50s. I was never a huge fan of the series, but Miyazaki always puts his unique print onto the stories he adapts and I look forward to seeing what he does with it. Miyazaki’s films are also well-known for getting fantastic voicework to do the English translation (thanks to Pixar’s John Lasseter). Voice actors from past films include Billy Crystal, Jean Simmons, Lauren Bacall, Christian Bale, Tina Fey, Michael Chiklis and Liam Neeson, among many other talented actors. I’m very excited to see who they get for this one. But I’m also just excited to see more of the film itself.
I still have Ponyo on my Netflix queue…guess I better get to watching it before this one comes out on DVD!
Congrats on being so close to completion of your degree!
The Borrowers! I didn't love them but they do take me back.
