You might remember I broke the news of a MacGruber movie back in the summer. Well, the first trailer is now up. And, to be honest… I’m pretty sure this won’t be very good.

My reasoning is the format of the movie is so different from the original skits. The skits themselves are very short and the time restriction forces the jokes to be very tight. From the looks of the trailer, the movie is probably going to be the run-of-the-mill spy spoof. Granted, a couple of the lines from the trailer were funny, but the majority fell flat for me.

I will give them props for starting the trailer off with a fairly convincing serious beginning (if I hadn’t known what I was watching, I would have guessed it really was a spy thriller). But man, Val Kilmer has aged a ton, hasn’t he?
