It’s been a while since I first heard about The Green Hornet movie. I know I wasn’t the only person questioning the film, especially with Seth Rogan as star and co-writer. I am a superhero fan, but I have to admit that I don’t know very much about the Green Hornet. He wasn’t one of the superheroes I grew up with. So when I watched the trailer, I had little to no bias about the story. Take a look.
I have to tell you… I’m not really impressed. It feels like a poor man’s Iron Man. At least Tony Stark made his suit himself… it looks like Green Hornet is basically using his father’s crap and making his sidekick do most of the work. And I felt like the “We’ll pretend to be bad guys” line is just a dumb Hollywood twist (was that part of the Hornet’s original storyline? Because if it isn’t, then it really is just a dumb Hollywood twist). And while the action looks cool in the trailer, who knows if that will translate the right way in the feature length film. Maybe it is just because I don’t know the back story or have very much invested in the character, but I just don’t think it looks very good.
For fans of the Green Hornet, does the trailer match your expectations for the film? Or is something lacking?
So much work done by the "sidekick." What a "superhero."
Well the A-Team looks like an awful movie but apparently everybody is saying its awesome, so with that in mind who knows, this movie could be good. The fact that Cameron Diaz is in this movie however does not put my mind at ease.
Yeah, but did you see who the bad guy was? Christoph Waltz! So with him and Seth Rogen, it will at least be entertaining…unless Seth Rogen's writing skills aren't as good as his comedic timing skills
One of these high profile superhero movies is going to tank hard and that will be the end of them all.
