I tend to shy away from horror movies. Even where there isn’t as much gore, it’s really easy for scary thrillers to be convoluted and even downright stupid. Black Swan is the story of a sweet, talented ballerina (played by the waifish Natalie Portman) who tries to tap into her dark side to win a choice role but ends up being engulfed by the maddening darkness within.
In the hands of most filmmakers, I would doubt the success of this movie. However, the director is Darren Aronofsky, perhaps best known for one of the scariest not-really-horror films out there, Requium for a Dream. He knows how to direct crazy, so this might actually work. Plus, the last few seconds of the trailer did give me the creeps, and isn’t that the goal?
The film comes out December 1st. And yes, that was Portman kissing Mila Kunis. Men of the internet rejoice, I guess.
I remember hearing about this some time ago, and it's awesome to finally see a trailer. I really hope it's more than just one character is in the head of another. 🙂
