I actually found this trailer a few weeks ago, but I’ve been so busy that I didn’t get it posted. If you went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 1, you probably saw this trailer. If you didn’t check it out.
I knew about the movie before seeing the trailer, which made me feel so much cooler than the douchy fratboys behind me that started shouting, “Oh snap, aliens!” What I like about what I’ve seen so far is that the townsfolk seem to be normal Old West townfolk. Save Daniel Craig’s mysterious wrist shackle, there is no steampunk or sci-fi technology on the humans’ side. We have a hard enough time fighting aliens in the 21st/mid-20th century – how much harder will it be with 19th century weapons in the remote American frontier?
I’m also really glad they didn’t show too much of the antagonists. I was talking a couple weeks ago about how the kraken in the Clash of the Titans remake was impressive, but only the first few times you see it. After seeing dozens of commercials featuring the abominations’ ugly mug, I was much less impressed, even bored. Better to leave it to the imagination until the actual film!
Is anyone else really hoping Harrison Ford knocks it out of the park in this one? Please, Harrison, redeem yourself after Crystal Skull!
That trailer looks like the movie could be pretty cool. It's got Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Olivia Wilde (at least, it looks like her), and it seems like once the action starts it should just keep on rolling!
Ever since I've seen the trailer I've been cautiously optimistic about this movie.
Guess we'll see how good it is in a couple months.
