Maybe you haven’t heard, but Conan is indeed leaving NBC. Being the class act that he is, he not only held out for compensation for himself, but also as much of his staff as he could.
I am more or less sickened by NBC’s lack of professionalism and tact, but putting that aside, Conan is not only funnier than Leno, but also a MUCH better interviewer. I only hope that Coco gets tons of offers so he can return to his wonderful funniness by the first week of September (the earliest date for him to do a late night talk show, on par with the negotiations).
And while I realize Leno probably didn’t mean for this to spin out of control, I think his attitude has been terrible, especially considering this video from 2004.
Sure, he could have been just putting on a happy face, but come on. Practice what you preach. But because you won’t, I refuse to watch the new, old, crappy Tonight Show (not that I watched it the last time Leno had it). Call me cruel, but I look forward to seeing the ratings drop like a lead balloon.
So here’s to Conan O’Brien, who has made me laugh for a decade (the first time I watched the show I was in 2000… I was in Germany and he was the only English program on. His guest was Mr. T. It was hilarious.) I hope everyone watches his last show, which is tonight (Friday) at 11:30 EST.
And here is Conan from this week, sticking it to the man… for the enjoyment of all.
God bless the Irish Giant.
That was funny. It unfortunately didn't cost NBC 1.5 Million. The car was on loan from the Peterson Museum.

I thought about that, too, but I think they still had to pay for the loan itself. Added to the rights to "Satisfaction", it's still a hell of a lot of money.
Isn't show biz stupid sometimes, strike that–most of the time?!
