Back to the Future – The Game Trailer

“As you are well aware, time travel is an inherently risky activity!” Because Just Plain Something is focused on movies, I don’t usually post game trailers. It’s a slippery slope that could lead to dangerous things… Jack Thompson said so (nut that he is). I felt like I had to make an exception for this trailer because it’s for freaking Back to the Future! It is one of the best movie trilogies of all-time and three of my favorite films (yes, even the 2nd one)! I heard about the game a while ago, but my little nerd heart leapt with excitement when I found this video.

Honestly, just hearing the mystical, twinkly music at the beginning gave me chills because it’s such an iconic sound. Then I started to grin like a fool when Huey Lewis started playing.

Now, that is not Michael J. Fox providing the voice, but newcomer AJ LoCascio sounds like he’s going to do a pretty damn good job (and you have to be grateful Fox allowed Telltale to use his likeness in the game). However, that is Christopher Lloyd repriesing his role as Doc Brown, which is pure and utter win. I caught some details from the trailer. For one, we got to see all the clocks from the first film (including the cat clock, which always caught my eye as a kid) and Doc still has the “not exactly to scale” model from 1955. I also noticed the Delorean is set to go back to the 1930s. What’s going to happen to him next?

The game is episodic and is being released for Windows and Mac, with later releases for the PS3 and the iPad. For more information, visit www.telltalegames.com/bttf.
