A Real Rorschach Mask

Your friendly neighborhood writer is sick this week, so I’ve been spending a good amount of today just resting and browsing the internet. Thanks to my fellow CliqueClack editor Keith, I discovered a how-to for the ever-changing Rorschach mask from Watchmen. Take a look:

Now, something I’ve noticed from watching the video is that the ink change works best where your breath can easily touch it, so if you do decide to make the mask, sketch a good amount of the design around the mouth and nose. The YouTube comments mention that once dry, the mixture of thermochromic paint and clear screen printing base should be harmless, but be careful not to inhale while still wet.
All in all, a very cool video. Definitely a must if you’re looking to make Rorschach cosplay. The movement isn’t as perfect as the film, but not all of us have a buttload of CGI at our disposal.
