As the year comes to a close, I wanted to write one more post in 2010. This goes out to my readers.
2010 has not been the easiest for me. I’ve lost more than one family member since this time last year and just that fact alone has put a strain on every aspect of my life. I’ve also been struggling to find a job job and figuring out who I am and what I need to do. There have been a lot of tears this year and it’s not too farfetched to think that 2010 has been the hardest year of my life.
And yet, Just Plain Something has been the one constant. Unlike many of the projects I dreamed up when I was younger, I have refused to let this be abandoned. There have been days when I didn’t want to write something new, but I pushed through the writer’s block and wrote anyway… many times, that’s when I wrote my best stuff. I do it for myself, but I also do it because I know I do have readers. I am really glad I did that survey back in the fall because I got to hear from so many of you. I read every single submission and was surprised by how many of you are people I don’t know. It made me smile more than once to read your last comments on the survey, which were overwhelmingly positive and supportive. Thank you to everyone who participated and I hope to see you comment on here soon. And a special thanks to those who do comment on a normal basis.
With just a few hours left (in North America, anyway) until the new year begins, I’m just very glad I have this website to call home. Just Plain Something has helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life and you readers are a part of that. So thank you.
Happy New Year,
Katie
A nice personal post to cap off the year. I am sorry to hear of your stuggles but am glad you managed to pull through and keep this going. Here's looking at a better 2011. Keep up the good work.
I love this "constant" of yours…I have thoroughly enjoyed every post!
Cheers to 2011!
Happy new year Katie!
