It was announced a few hours ago that A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel’s own Darren Criss (aka Harry Freakin’ Potter) is joining the cast of Glee. After I died and went to heaven, I came back to earth because I realized I needed to write a PotterWatch post about it.
Like fellow Glee newcomer Charice Pempengco, Criss is best known for his online work, in such Starkid productions as AVPM, AVPS and the miniseries Little White Lie. It says a lot about how television exes are looking for talent, for better or worse.
Apparently the Scarf of Sexual Preference had something to do with his being cast because Darren will be playing a rival from a prep school (so he’ll be back in a uniform) and a potential love interest for Kurt. It’s like Glee and AVPM are going to come together in an explosion of musical homoeroticism (I mean, it is FOX). There hasn’t been much talk on how many episodes he will be in (or if he is indeed going to be romancing Kurt), but I really hope Darren finds a way to mention Red Vines (and his favorite way to say “Red Wines” in German).
In case you forget why I would be so excited, here’s the beginning of AVPM… “Floo Powder Power! Floo Powder Power!”

Honestly, the only way I could be more excited is if Newsies becomes a stage show… OH WAIT.
This is wonderful news! I better go buy some Treacle Tarts for the occasion.
Oh, wow. This… this is amazing.
